About the Role
Timeless Telecommunications Limited, a leading broadband network operator in Nigeria since 2009, is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Field Maintenance Engineer (FME) to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in performing on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of network equipment, access points, surveillance systems, and related infrastructure to ensure utmost customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on client and in-house systems including CCTV, wireless access points, routers, switches, and structured cabling.
- Respond to escalated support tickets and critical maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner across various locations in Nigeria.
- Conduct thorough site surveys and provide detailed technical reports with actionable recommendations.
- Install, configure, and optimize wireless radios (e.g., Ubiquiti NanoStation), network switches, access points, and modern CCTV surveillance cameras.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance logs, installation plans, and material usage for seamless operations.
- Collaborate closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC), project teams, and clients to swiftly resolve technical issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, industry standards, and company protocols during all field operations.
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotation schedules as required by operational demands.
- Minimum of OND, HND, or BSc degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in technical fieldwork, specifically within IT, surveillance, or networking environments in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with tools and equipment utilized in modern network and CCTV installations.
- Familiarity with cable termination, crimping, trunking, and using test tools for signal tracing and device configuration.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work efficiently under pressure.
- Willingness to travel frequently, undertake field assignments, and work on-site as required by business needs.
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti, Mikrotik, or Huawei network devices, IP addressing, basic routing, and wireless technologies.
