About the Role
Pullus Africa is Africa’s first poultry-focused supply chain platform using technology to boost local poultry production and supply chain by facilitating farmers’ access to guaranteed markets, finance, quality inputs, and advisory services. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Extension Officer to join our dynamic team and drive agricultural excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular on-site visits to poultry farmers to provide expert extension support, guidance, and troubleshooting.
- Educate farmers on modern best practices in breeding, rearing, health management, and disease prevention.
- Assess farm production systems and recommend improvements in biosecurity, housing, feeding, and waste management.
- Organize and facilitate interactive training workshops on poultry nutrition, feed formulation, and management.
- Collaborate with farmers to design customized feeding programs that align with their production goals and resources.
- Assist farmers in accessing credit and financing options by guiding them through loan applications and basic financial management.
- Stay updated on the latest industry advancements and maintain accurate digital records of farm profiles, visits, and services provided.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Animal Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in agricultural extension work, specifically within the poultry sector.
- Extensive practical knowledge of poultry production systems, nutrition, and farm management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and training skills with the ability to engage diverse groups of farmers.
- Proficiency in utilizing digital tools and mobile applications for agricultural record-keeping and reporting.
