About the Role
Faith Comprehensive International Secondary School (FACISS), a prominent co-educational day and boarding institution located in Okutukutu, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm Worker. Operating with the motto "Faith with Hardwork," our school has served the community for over 29 years, focusing on moral, spiritual, and academic excellence. We are looking for an industrious individual to manage daily farm activities, maintain our agricultural facilities, and support hands-on learning for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily farm operations including planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting crops.
- Feed, monitor, and maintain the general health and hygiene of farm livestock and poultry.
- Operate, clean, and perform basic maintenance on farm tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Ensure the security and cleanliness of the school farm and surrounding agricultural areas.
- Assist agricultural science teachers and students with practical farming demonstrations and projects.
- Apply fertilizers and pest control measures in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of farm produce, livestock inventory, and daily activities.
- Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent practical farming experience.
- Prior working experience in commercial or school farming environments is a distinct advantage.
- Basic understanding of crop cultivation, animal husbandry, and farm safety practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students and staff.
