About the Role
Olam Agri is a market-leading, differentiated food, feed, and fiber agribusiness seeking a dedicated and dynamic Farm Manager for our hatchery and poultry operations in Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will direct both daily and strategic agricultural operations across diverse setups, including layer and broiler breeders. You will leverage state-of-the-art automated feeding, ventilation, housing, and egg collection systems to maximize productivity while strictly upholding international biosecurity and animal welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise daily farm operations to achieve production targets, maintain quality standards, and adhere to budgetary requirements.
- Manage modern poultry operations utilizing automated agricultural technologies to enhance efficiency, flock performance, and animal welfare.
- Ensure rigorous compliance with operational protocols, strict biosecurity measures, and international industry standards.
- Apply best practices in nutrition, health monitoring, vaccination schedules, and parental stock management to optimize production.
- Monitor and analyze critical farm health indicators such as mortality rates, growth consistency, egg production, and hatchability.
- Implement comprehensive sanitation, preventive medication, and hygiene procedures to maintain ideal livestock conditions and prevent disease.
- Lead, mentor, and develop farm personnel to foster a safe, disciplined, high-performance, and professional working environment.
- Collaborate closely with veterinary and technical teams to promptly address health and operational challenges for continuous productivity.
- Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Animal Production, or a closely related discipline.
- Postgraduate studies or specialized training in Poultry Production or Pathology will be a distinct advantage.
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in farm or livestock operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with modern, automated farming and hatchery systems is strongly preferred.
