About the Role
Aldelano Organic Foods Ltd, a pioneer in hydroponic and organic greenhouse farming, is seeking a highly experienced Farm Manager to oversee its commercial open-field habanero pepper and greenhouse bell pepper production operations. This role is ideal for a results-driven agricultural professional with strong technical expertise and leadership skills who can consistently deliver high yields, superior crop quality, and profitable farm operations.
The Farm Manager will be responsible for end-to-end farm operations, from planning and planting to harvesting, post-harvest handling, staff supervision, and reporting, ensuring that production standards align with the company's commitment to clean, green, and sustainable farming.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement annual and seasonal crop production plans, including nursery operations and transplanting schedules
- Supervise land preparation, irrigation installation, and greenhouse setup
- Develop and manage irrigation and fertigation schedules, monitoring water quality, soil moisture, pH, and EC
- Design and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and maintain compliance with safety regulations
- Oversee greenhouse operations including climate control, pruning, trellising, pollination support, and sanitation
- Recruit, train, and supervise farm staff, ensuring high performance, discipline, and safety compliance
- Schedule and manage harvesting, grading, sorting, packaging, and storage to minimize post-harvest losses
- Prepare production budgets, manage inventory, and coordinate equipment and machinery maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, costs, and yields, and submit regular performance reports to management
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agronomy, Crop Production, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field
- Professional agricultural certifications are an added advantage
- Minimum of 7 years' experience managing commercial pepper production
- Demonstrated success managing open-field habanero pepper farms
- Demonstrated success managing greenhouse bell pepper production
- Proven track record of achieving high yields and maintaining crop quality
- Experience managing large farm workforces
