About the Role
UAC Foods Limited, a leading joint venture between UAC of Nigeria PLC and Tiger Brands Limited, is renowned for producing iconic Nigerian brands such as Gala Sausage Roll, Funtime, and Supreme Ice-cream. We are currently looking for a dedicated and results-driven Factory HSE Manager to oversee and optimize our health, safety, and environmental systems within our manufacturing operations. In this vital role, you will champion safety governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a world-class safety culture across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE programmes aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 frameworks.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments, identify hazards, and ensure robust control measures are actively maintained.
- Lead thorough investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to establish root causes and enforce corrective actions.
- Enforce environmental management standards, including solid waste management and compliant wastewater discharge procedures.
- Oversee factory hygiene, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation, and pest control fumigation programmes.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, conduct regular drills, and ensure response teams are fully prepared.
- Mentor, coach, and develop the HSE team while promoting safety ownership and accountability across the entire workforce.
- BSc or HND in any discipline or an HSE-related field from a recognized institution.
- Mandatory professional certifications including NEBOSH and ISPON.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant HSE experience within an FMCG, food and beverage, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in occupational health, environmental management, incident investigation, and factory hygiene standards.
