About the Role
Iconic Open University, a leading NUC-licensed private open and distance learning institution in Nigeria, invites suitably qualified academics to serve as External Examiners for our undergraduate and postgraduate Public Health programmes. In this critical role, you will help us maintain the highest standards of academic quality, integrity, and excellence across our curricula.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and moderate examination questions, scripts, and project reports to ensure academic rigor and fairness.
- Review course materials, curricula, and assessment methods for Public Health programmes.
- Provide objective feedback and comprehensive reports on academic standards and student performance to the University Senate.
- Ensure alignment with national and international benchmarks in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) education.
- Must hold a minimum of a Ph.D. in Public Health or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Must not be below the academic rank of Senior Lecturer; Readers and Professors are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of postgraduate supervision, external examining experience, and research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Familiarity with e-assessment, virtual examination platforms, and ODL pedagogical approaches.
- Must be completely independent of Iconic Open University with no conflicts of interest.
