About the Role
Assist to Hire Limited is currently recruiting a dynamic and experienced Phonics and Diction Teacher for our esteemed client located in Lekki Phase 1 (2nd Roundabout), Lagos. This role is designed for a passionate educator dedicated to the science of reading, capable of bridging the vital gap between early childhood literacy and advanced linguistic mastery for children aged 6 months to 13 years.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging systematic and synthetic phonics instruction to build a solid foundation in the 44 phonemes of the English language.
- Transition older students from basic decoding to advanced spelling rules, syllabication, and morphological studies including Greek and Latin roots.
- Conduct regular diagnostic assessments to identify gaps in phonemic awareness and implement targeted, effective intervention plans.
- Utilize multi-sensory teaching resources such as sound buttons, sand trays, and interactive tools to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Provide mentorship, workshops, and model lessons for fellow classroom teachers to ensure a consistent approach to literacy institution-wide.
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, English Language, Linguistics, or a closely related field.
- Hold a recognized certification in a structured synthetic phonics program such as Jolly Phonics, Read Write Inc., or Orton-Gillingham.
- Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills with impeccable diction and a neutral accent.
- Proven ability to adapt teaching methodologies from playful engagement for young children to analytical linguistic study for older students.
- Competitive daily remuneration ranging from N15,000 to N18,000, which is negotiable based on experience and expertise.
