About the Role
Teestone Hotel & Apartments is a modern boutique hotel located in the peaceful neighborhood of Ikeja, just 15 minutes from Murtala Muhammed International Airport. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality to business and leisure travelers alike. We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Experienced Hotel Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team and support the daily operations of our busy hotel kitchen.
Key Responsibilities- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and food preparation areas to meet high hygiene standards.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly and efficiently during service hours.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries and kitchen supplies in designated areas.
- Ensure proper food handling, hygiene, and storage procedures are strictly followed at all times.
- Dispose of waste correctly and maintain overall cleanliness in all kitchen and storage zones.
- Replenish essential kitchen supplies and notify supervisors promptly of low stock levels.
- Assist with setting up and closing down kitchen stations for smooth daily transitions.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations mandated in hospitality environments.
- Support the broader kitchen team during peak service periods and banquets as required.
- Minimum of SSCE / High School Certificate.
- Proven previous experience working in a professional kitchen, restaurant, or hotel environment.
- Basic knowledge of local food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to thrive and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Good physical stamina with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift supplies.
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal communication skills.
