About the Role

Neptune Microfinance Bank is on a mission to empower people through financial intermediation in Nigeria and Africa, meeting both business and personal financial needs. We are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to lead our Asset Finance function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing the Bank's asset finance portfolio while ensuring effective asset management and fostering strong customer relationships. You will play a crucial role in sourcing and evaluating asset finance opportunities, structuring facilities, monitoring financed assets, managing portfolio performance, and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to grow the Bank's asset finance portfolio in alignment with business objectives and the approved risk appetite.
  • Identify, source, and cultivate strategic relationships with prospective customers requiring financing for vehicles, equipment, machinery, and other productive assets.
  • Review, evaluate, and assess comprehensive asset finance applications, analyzing customers' financial capacity, creditworthiness, repayment ability, and overall business performance.
  • Structure appropriate asset finance facilities tailored to customer needs while strictly adhering to the Bank's credit policy and risk parameters.
  • Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with customers, asset vendors, dealers, manufacturers, and strategic business partners.
  • Monitor the day-to-day performance of the asset finance portfolio and proactively ensure the timely repayment of all facilities.
  • Analyze prevailing market trends and recommend continuous improvements to the Bank's asset finance products, pricing models, operational processes, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Drive overall portfolio profitability while maintaining exceptional credit quality and minimizing the incidence of non-performing facilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, CIBN, CFA, or equivalent qualifications will be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Asset Finance, Credit, Lending, or Relationship Management within the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and growing a profitable asset finance or lending portfolio.
  • Extensive knowledge of credit appraisal, financial statement analysis, loan structuring, and comprehensive credit risk management.
  • Thorough understanding of asset finance products, collateral management, and proactive loan monitoring practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial analysis and management software tools.
