About the Role
African Natural Resources & Mines Limited (ANRML) was incorporated in 2012 as part of African Industries Group’s backward integration strategy for steel production, expanding into major mining operations across Nigeria. We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Engineer to support the development and monitoring of robust environmental management systems across our operational sites.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and monitor comprehensive environmental management policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Ensure full operational compliance with Nigerian environmental laws, regulations, permits, and industry standards.
- Conduct routine environmental inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential non-compliance issues.
- Monitor air emissions, wastewater, noise levels, and waste generation parameters across operations.
- Coordinate proper collection, storage, treatment, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Investigate environmental incidents, spills, or complaints and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Prepare accurate environmental compliance reports and liaise with regulatory agencies and consultants.
- Conduct environmental awareness training and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in environmental management, HSE, mining, or industrial manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of Nigerian environmental regulations and pollution-control practices.
- Proven experience in waste management, environmental monitoring, and compliance reporting.
- Relevant professional certifications in HSE or environmental management will be an added advantage.
