Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Medical Laboratory Science to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic field placements at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
  • Participate actively in curriculum development, course evaluation, and the enhancement of academic standards within the Faculty of Allied Health Science.
  • Mentor students academically and professionally, providing guidance on career paths within the medical laboratory science sector.
  • Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Hold a PhD in Medical Laboratory Science or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of continuous academic experience at the rank of Lecturer I.
  • Demonstrate a robust research portfolio with at least 15 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets, including a minimum of 3 publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
  • Demonstrate ICT proficiency with the ability to utilize modern e-learning platforms and educational technology effectively.
  • Maintain active membership in relevant professional bodies within the medical laboratory science discipline.
  • Possession of a mandatory National Youth Service Corps NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate is strictly compulsory.
