About the Role

Showers Christian High School, a fully accredited institution recognized by the Rivers State and Federal Ministries of Education as well as the British Council, is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Language Teacher. Our school prepares students for prestigious examinations including WAEC, NECO, CIE Cambridge (Checkpoint, O and A Levels), TOEFL, IELTS, P, and SAT. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive English language and literature lessons aligned with Nigerian, British, and international curricula.
  • Prepare students thoroughly for national and international examinations such as WAEC, NECO, IGCSE, IELTS, TOEFL, and SAT.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic improvement.
  • Create a stimulating, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment that fosters critical thinking and effective communication.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development workshops, and school-wide extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to ensure the holistic development and success of every student.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in English Language, or a related field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience teaching English in a reputable secondary school or educational center.
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing students for Cambridge International Examinations, WAEC, NECO, and international language tests.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Strong passion for teaching with a commitment to upholding Christian values and high ethical standards.
