About the Role
ABNL Limited is a leading 100% indigenous oil and gas servicing company in Nigeria, committed to delivering professional engineering and technical solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced and strategic Wells Advisor III to provide expert technical guidance, mentorship, and operational oversight for our drilling and completion programs. In this expert-level role, you will drive operational excellence, mentor junior engineers, and ensure safety and compliance across multiple rig lines within the West African sub-region.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor, guide, and interface with less-experienced drilling and completion engineers to foster professional growth.
- Provide high-level oversight of drilling programs, ensuring continuity and consistency in practices across multiple rig lines.
- Interface directly with affiliates and business units regarding logistics, environmental, regulatory, procurement, and cost stewardship activities.
- Develop and lead long-term team performance improvement initiatives and comprehensive engineering studies.
- Drive continuous efficiency improvements in drilling and completion operations.
- Participate actively in vendor clarifications, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and package acceptances.
- Review and respond to specification deviation requests, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Ensure human factors engineering, personnel safety, and equipment integrity are strictly maintained.
- Assist in the development and review of commissioning and System Integration Test (SIT) procedures while supporting construction efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline, with Mechanical or Civil engineering strongly preferred.
- Extensive late-career industry experience in drilling rig development, covering FEED, detail design, construction, and commissioning.
- Proven background in construction site management with a strong familiarity in drilling well-site design.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and computing skills with high adaptability to changing priorities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of offshore oil and gas regulations and applicable industry codes such as API, ASME, ANSI, SAE, ASTM, ABS, DNV, SOLAS, and IMO.
