About the Role
MTN Nigeria, Africa's leading telecommunications powerhouse, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Engineer - Solution Design to join our vibrant Information Technology division. In this role, you will lead project technical teams to deliver robust consumer and enterprise solutions that align with our strategic business needs, working closely with engineering and delivery teams to integrate IT and IS solutions seamlessly.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop comprehensive designs supporting functional requirements for business application projects, including conceptual, high-level, and detailed design specifications for build, implementation, and support.
- Code applications adhering to secure coding practices to eliminate common vulnerabilities and ensure system integrity.
- Create, execute, and coordinate technical test plans for application changes, new deployments, and upgrades.
- Resolve any defects and performance issues identified during the testing phase efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including vendors, service management, security, operations, and architecture teams.
- Implement effective access controls and maintain specialized knowledge of telecommunications business processes, IT support, and hardware technologies.
- Apply software delivery methodologies such as Waterfall and Scrum to drive successful project outcomes.
- First degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a specialized technical area with experience supervising others.
- Demonstrated experience working within a medium to large-scale organization.
