About the Role
The Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Engineer I (Electrical). As a premier federal tertiary health institution rooted in a rich history of academic and medical excellence, we are dedicated to providing top-tier healthcare services and infrastructure. We are looking for a dedicated electrical engineering professional to maintain, upgrade, and manage our critical electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Design, install, and maintain electrical systems, power distribution networks, and equipment across the hospital complex.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical installations, generators, and medical support systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults promptly to minimize downtime in critical hospital departments.
- Collaborate with other engineering and medical maintenance teams to execute capital projects and facility upgrades.
- Ensure strict compliance with Nigerian safety standards, institutional guidelines, and electrical codes of practice.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all electrical maintenance works, equipment inventories, and repairs.
- Possession of a good and relevant Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Must be fully registered or registrable with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
- Possession of a current practicing license issued by COREN.
- Evidence of successful completion or exemption from the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a keen eye for safety details.
