About the Role
Starsight Energy is a leading provider of premier clean on-grid and off-grid energy services for commercial and industrial clients across Africa, making sustainability a smart financial choice. We are looking for a talented Energy Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will provide critical technical and commercial support to sales and opportunity leaders by designing robust photovoltaic, storage, and hybrid energy solutions. You will ensure that all technical considerations, BOQs, and risk assessments are meticulously captured to drive successful bids and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Translate project briefs into winning strategies by defining customer objectives and conducting site surveys and energy audits when necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive technical solutions, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and designs using industry tools like PVsyst, Homer Pro, and Helioscope.
- Manage end-to-end bid preparations, proposal technical content, and compliance with Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
- Collaborate with supply chain, marketing, and finance stakeholders to perform accurate costings and produce competitive technical offers.
- Design and revise photovoltaic solar systems for SME and C&I clients utilizing AutoCAD or PC Schematic, and simulate electrical networks using ETab.
- Ensure adherence to local building and electrical codes while creating solar layout mock-ups and drawings.
- Maintain seamless communication with sales consultants, site inspectors, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- First Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the design and development of electrical and power systems, specifically including solar solution design.
- Proven expertise in power generation, transmission, distribution systems, and switchyard design.
- Hands-on experience in electrical control panel systems, PLC and microcontroller-based systems, inverter backup solutions, and various battery technologies.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
