About the Role
BIC Nigeria, a premier agribusiness and manufacturing leader, is looking for a skilled and dedicated Electrical Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. In this vital role, you will ensure the seamless operation of our advanced manufacturing lines by providing expert electrical and electronic maintenance, fault diagnosis, and system optimization for injection molding, extrusion, and assembly machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on injection molding and auxiliary production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and electronic faults in PLC systems, temperature controllers, and motor drives.
- Read and interpret electrical circuit diagrams and technical drawings to facilitate quick repairs.
- Monitor machine performance closely to minimize downtime and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and spare parts inventory records.
- Collaborate effectively with production and engineering teams during the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Ensure strict adherence to company safety policies and industrial compliance standards at all times.
- Minimum of an HND or BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, specifically with injection molding machines like Haitian, Demag, Engel, or Arburg.
- Proficient in PLC troubleshooting, industrial electrical systems, sensors, and hydraulic control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, and insulation testers.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent teamwork skills, and the readiness to work in a fast-paced shift environment.
- Prior experience within the plastic manufacturing industry will be considered a distinct advantage.
