About the Role
Mikano International, Nigeria's premier power solution provider, is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Electrical Engineer (Panel Builder) to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for building, wiring, testing, and commissioning high-quality electrical control panels and switchboards using cutting-edge technology and modern manufacturing equipment. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our power solutions meet stringent engineering standards, safety regulations, and project timelines, supporting our commitment to delivering excellence across Nigeria and the wider region.
Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel layout documents before initiating assembly.
- Assemble and wire various electrical enclosures, including control panels, distribution boards, Motor Control Center (MCC) panels, automation panels, and junction boxes.
- Install panel-mounted components such as circuit breakers, contactors, relays, PLCs, VFDs, transformers, and power supplies following strict engineering practices.
- Perform comprehensive electrical fabrication tasks including enclosure preparation, drilling, cutting, gland installation, DIN rail mounting, and precise cable management.
- Ensure accurate cable sizing, termination, ferruling, tagging, crimping, and routing with proper segregation and identification.
- Conduct rigorous continuity, insulation resistance, point-to-point, and functional tests on completed panels to guarantee safety, quality, and operational reliability.
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical panel building, industrial electrical installation, control panel assembly, testing, or commissioning.
- Proven ability to accurately interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings.
- Practical expertise in assembling and wiring control panels, MCCs, distribution boards, and industrial electrical enclosures.
- Familiarity with applicable electrical standards, codes, industrial automation, PLCs, VFDs, and safe workshop practices.
- Relevant professional certifications or active membership in a recognized engineering body will be an added advantage.
