About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading building solutions company in Sub-Saharan Africa and a member of the LafargeHolcim group, is seeking a talented and driven Electrical Engineer. In this vital role, you will apply your electrical and instrumentation engineering expertise within our cement production environment, executing technical work that drives operational efficiency and plant reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and supervise daily electrical tasks to support uninterrupted cement production operations.
- Ensure high availability of all electrical and instrumentation equipment required for plant processes.
- Ensure correct execution of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Schedules.
- Strictly enforce and comply with all company Health and Safety procedures and standards.
- Collaborate with the Electrical Planner to guarantee the availability of necessary spares for task execution.
- Assign, coordinate, and oversee work for Electrical Technicians, ensuring timely and effective close-out of assigned tasks.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a modern integrated cement plant or large-scale heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, medium- and low-voltage electric motors, and ABB switchgear.
- Familiarity with 11kV/400V power distribution panels, Motor Control Centres, and ABB/Siemens Variable Frequency/Speed Drives.
- Active membership or registration with relevant professional bodies such as COREN or NSE is a strong advantage.
