About the Role
Laurels Model College is a reputable co-educational day and boarding school located at 80 Mini Orlu Road, Rumuopirikom, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Since our founding in September 2009, we have been committed to academic excellence through a robust hybrid curriculum spanning basic, junior secondary, and senior secondary education, successfully preparing students for examinations such as WASSCE, SSCE, and IGCSE. We are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Economics Teacher to join our esteemed faculty.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, comprehensive, and well-structured Economics lessons to junior and senior secondary students in alignment with the school's hybrid curriculum.
- Prepare students thoroughly for national and international examinations, including WASSCE, SSCE, and IGCSE.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies, lesson plans, and assessment tools to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Monitor, evaluate, and record student academic progress, providing constructive feedback to learners and parents.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment conducive to effective teaching and learning.
- Participate actively in school meetings, professional development workshops, and extracurricular activities.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc., B.Ed.) or a Master's degree in Economics or a related field.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in using digital tools for modern classroom instruction.
- A high academic GPA from the university is strongly preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in a reputable secondary school is considered a significant asset.
