About the Role
Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital (GOUNITH), formerly Ntasi Obi Hospital, is a premier medical institution dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and research. We are currently seeking a dedicated and competent ECG Technician I to join our specialized ECG Unit. In this role, you will play a crucial part in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions by operating electrocardiograph equipment with precision and care, supporting our mission to deliver holistic healthcare and advance medical standards in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized electrocardiogram (ECG) tests on patients as ordered by medical physicians.
- Ensure proper electrode placement and equipment calibration for accurate diagnostic readings.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and report any malfunctions of ECG and cardiac monitoring equipment promptly.
- Manage patient records accurately, ensuring data privacy and seamless integration with electronic medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in the unit.
- Completed the prescribed 3-year training programme at the School of Health Technology with appropriate registration, or possess a B.Sc or HND in Physiology, Anatomy, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Valid NYSC Discharge or Exemption certificate.
- Minimum of two (2) years of cognate post-qualification experience in a recognized healthcare facility.
- Must possess valid professional practicing licenses where applicable and relevant regulatory registrations.
- Strong ICT compliance and familiarity with digital hospital management systems.
