About the Role
O.K. Isokariari & Sons Nigeria Limited, a premier Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company with over 45 years of industry excellence, is seeking a skilled Earthworks Engineer. In this critical role, you will take technical ownership of challenging terrain projects, specializing in soil mechanics, site grading, excavation, and complex ground stabilization operations across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Design, plan, and supervise comprehensive de-watering systems including wellpoints, deep wells, sump pumping, and cofferdams for high-water-table sites.
- Spearhead land reclamation initiatives by evaluating soil composition, managing dredging output, and overseeing sand-filling operations in swampy terrains.
- Implement advanced ground improvement techniques such as surcharging, vibro-compaction, geo-textile installation, and stone columns to stabilize weak foundations.
- Supervise heavy earth-moving machinery to achieve proper grading, compaction densities, and elevation profiles in accordance with project specifications.
- Review soil test reports and geological surveys to formulate safe, cost-effective earthworks execution methodologies while enforcing stringent HSE protocols.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; professional registration with COREN is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of dedicated civil engineering experience with a verifiable track record in de-watering and land reclamation within challenging swampy terrains.
- Deep expertise in hydrogeology, soil mechanics, and pump system engineering.
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software and earthwork volume calculation tools.
- Strong operational leadership and problem-solving skills under adverse site conditions.
