About the Role

We are currently expanding our technical team and looking for a dedicated Earth Moving Mechanic to ensure our heavy machinery operates at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities

As an Earth Moving Mechanic, you will be pivotal in maintaining our fleet of heavy-duty machinery to guarantee safety and efficiency on site. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Inspect, service, maintain, and repair heavy-duty construction and earth-moving equipment including excavators, bulldozers, and wheel loaders.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine-related faults using appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • Execute comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime.
  • Perform routine servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and undercarriage inspections.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, carrying out necessary field repairs at various project locations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts replacements, and equipment inspections.
  • Adhere strictly to company HSE policies, manufacturer specifications, and safety standards while keeping the workshop clean and organized.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role in Nigeria should possess the right blend of technical training and practical field experience:

  • Trade Test Certificate, OND, HND, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics, or Automobile Engineering.
  • 2 to 5 years of proven professional experience as an Earth Moving Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Technician.
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and schematic diagrams.
  • Familiarity with construction, oil and gas, or heavy engineering working environments.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
