About the Role

Maton Engineering Nigeria Limited is a multidisciplinary engineering and project support company dedicated to powering the oil and gas, civil, and infrastructure sectors with reliable solutions. We are currently seeking a technically competent and safety-conscious Earth Moving Electrician to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and electronic systems on heavy machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety across our project sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, graders, and dump trucks.
  • Diagnose complex electrical and electronic faults using multimeters, diagnostic scanners, and specialized testing equipment.
  • Maintain and repair wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, starters, lighting systems, and electrical controls.
  • Execute both preventive and corrective electrical maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and equipment manuals accurately.
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns at project or field locations as required.
  • Ensure all repairs comply strictly with manufacturer specifications and company HSE policies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Certificate, Trade Test, OND, HND, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Automotive Electrical Engineering.
  • 2 to 5 years of proven professional experience as an Earth Moving Equipment Electrician or Heavy-Duty Equipment Electrician.
  • Strong working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring, batteries, charging systems, and electronic control modules.
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems and CAN-bus troubleshooting is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety standards and electrical hazard protocols.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in remote or field locations.
