About the Role

Maton Engineering Nigeria Limited is a leading multidisciplinary engineering and project support company dedicated to powering the oil and gas industry with reliable, end-to-end solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Crane Electrician to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our heavy lifting equipment across various project sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair crane electrical systems to minimize operational downtime.
  • Diagnose complex electrical and electronic faults using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and service control panels, wiring, motors, starters, batteries, relays, and sensors.
  • Troubleshoot crane controls, AC/DC drives, limit switches, and emergency-stop systems effectively.
  • Carry out comprehensive preventive and corrective electrical maintenance schedules.
  • Read and accurately interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Conduct thorough functional tests after completing repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns at project sites and field locations.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of equipment inspections, identified faults, and repairs.
  • Strictly adhere to company HSE policies, electrical safety standards, and crane safety procedures.

Qualifications
  • Certificate, Trade Test, OND, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a Crane Electrician, Heavy Equipment Electrician, or Industrial Electrician.
  • Proven working experience with overhead, mobile, or tower crane electrical systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of wiring, control circuits, motors, starters, drives, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read electrical drawings and complex wiring diagrams.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of crane safety regulations and general electrical safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, LMIs, CAN-bus systems, or computerized diagnostics is an added advantage.
