About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is seeking a seasoned Assistant General Manager, Mechanical (Hydraulics Specialist) to join our operations in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical leadership role, you will spearhead the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of advanced hydraulic systems for FLS Coolers, IKN Coolers, Loesche VRM, and OK Mills, ensuring peak operational efficiency and equipment reliability across our large-scale manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the operation, preventive maintenance, and complex troubleshooting of heavy-duty hydraulic systems, including Stacker luffing cylinders, hydraulic hoses, and proportional valves.
- Manage hydraulic systems for VRM, kilns, clinker coolers, and bulk material handling equipment such as stackers and reclaimers.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies, diagnostic assessments, and failure analyses to resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop comprehensive hydraulic designs, upgrades, and safety compliance frameworks.
- Perform advanced hydraulic calculations, simulations, and modeling to predict and improve equipment performance.
- Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning phases while ensuring strict adherence to global engineering standards.
- Manage operational budgets, project timelines, and resource allocation effectively to drive plant success.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialized hydraulics training; a Master's degree is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in cement plant hydraulics operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and deep knowledge of SAP modules, AutoCAD, and hydraulic circuit notations.
