About the Role
Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) was established by Pfizer Inc. for the people of Kano State in Nigeria to conduct vital biomedical and healthcare research on public health diseases. Funded through long-term agreements, our centre also drives workforce development in public health across the African continent. We are currently seeking responsible, safety-conscious, and experienced Drivers to provide reliable transportation services for our staff, visitors, and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities- Safely transport staff, visitors, and organizational materials to designated locations within Kano State and across Nigeria.
- Operate assigned vehicles in strict compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure cars are fully roadworthy before every trip.
- Maintain the cleanliness, security, and proper mechanical condition of assigned organizational vehicles.
- Monitor fuel levels, oil, and routine maintenance requirements, reporting any defects promptly.
- Keep accurate, up-to-date records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance activities.
- Ensure the timely renewal and availability of all vehicle documentation, permits, and insurance records.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and safe handling of materials and equipment when required.
- Report accidents, breakdowns, traffic violations, or incidents promptly and cooperate with relevant authorities.
- Minimum of an SSCE/WAEC Certificate from a recognized institution.
- Possession of a valid Nigerian Driver's Licence and a clean driving record with no major traffic offenses.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably with reputable organizations or NGOs.
- Demonstrable experience operating Toyota Hilux, Toyota Hiace, and similar utility or passenger vehicles.
- Extensive knowledge of road networks and traffic regulations within Kano State and nationwide.
- Sound understanding of basic vehicle maintenance and ability to perform routine mechanical checks.
- Possession of a Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized training body is a strong added advantage.
