About the Role
UUL United Logistics NIG LTD is looking for a dedicated and safety-conscious Road Safety Officer to join our dynamic fleet operations team. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our drivers, cargo, and vehicles while maintaining our high industry standards for logistics excellence across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise cargo lashing operations at the terminal to ensure maximum safety and strict compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Monitor and enforce driver discipline, safety standards, and regulatory compliance across the truck fleet.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication in both English and Hausa between management and drivers.
- Prepare and maintain accurate Excel-based reports on fleet activities, driver compliance, and safety incidents for management review.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all company vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and fit for daily operations.
- Monitor driver behavior on transit to ensure adherence to traffic laws and company road safety policies.
- Identify unsafe driving practices, report illegal activities or unauthorized operations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Hold an OND, HND, or B.Sc. in a relevant academic field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience in road safety, fleet operations, or transportation.
- Strong working knowledge of Nigerian road safety regulations, traffic rules, and defensive driving techniques.
- Relevant safety certifications will be considered a strong added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic operational reporting.
- Fluent in both English and Hausa languages for effective communication.
