About the Role
Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Draftsman to join our dynamic team in Apapa, Lagos. In this vital role, you will prepare, modify, and maintain accurate technical drawings, layouts, and engineering documentation to support our extensive manufacturing, maintenance, and construction activities. You will collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure all designs comply with the highest industry standards and safety regulations, contributing directly to our mission of building local manufacturing capacity across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed technical drawings, layouts, and engineering schematics using AutoCAD and other CADD software.
- Review and revise engineering drawings to incorporate design changes, project requirements, and relevant safety standards.
- Conduct site measurements and inspections to ensure technical documents accurately reflect existing plant conditions.
- Identify potential design discrepancies and recommend effective remedial actions to engineering stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of drawings, revisions, and engineering documentation with proper version control.
- Provide necessary drawings and technical documentation for equipment installation, plant modifications, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements within the work area.
- HND or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in engineering drafting, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant Computer-Aided Design and Drafting software.
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings, geometric dimensions, technical specifications, and safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Relevant technical certification or drafting qualification will be an added advantage.
