About the Role
Scruples Resources, a leading provider of consultancy, resource development, and human resource solutions for the Nigerian economy, is seeking a qualified and dynamic Diving Supervisor. In this critical offshore role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising commercial diving activities associated with underwater construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair operations. You will ensure that all diving tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with approved procedures, international diving standards, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and supervise commercial diving operations in accordance with approved diving plans, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate diving personnel, support vessels, equipment, tools, and resources for seamless underwater operations.
- Conduct thorough pre-dive meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings with the diving team.
- Review risk assessments, method statements, and emergency response arrangements before commencing activities.
- Supervise divers and support personnel, ensuring strict adherence to decompression schedules and operational limits.
- Monitor environmental factors such as weather, sea conditions, visibility, and water depth.
- Maintain accurate diving logs, equipment inspection records, and daily operational documentation.
- Respond promptly to diving emergencies and coordinate rescue or medical procedures when necessary.
- Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions arise and report all incidents through proper channels.
- Recognized qualification and certification as a commercial diver and/or Diving Supervisor.
- Valid certification from a recognized commercial diving regulatory body.
- Current commercial diver medical fitness certification and relevant offshore/marine safety credentials.
- Significant hands-on experience in commercial diving operations and team supervision.
- Proven expertise in underwater construction, inspection, maintenance, and marine works.
- Strong knowledge of surface-supplied diving systems, diving physics, and emergency medical procedures.
