About the Role

As a Dietetics Intern, you will work alongside experienced clinical dietitians in a bustling 500-bed hospital environment, gaining invaluable practical experience in nutritional assessment, medical nutrition therapy, and community health promotion across Edo and Delta states.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior dietitians in conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments for in-patients and out-patients.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized medical nutrition therapy plans for various clinical conditions.
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary healthcare team consultations.
  • Provide evidence-based dietary counseling and education to patients and their families.
  • Assist in conducting research activities focused on local morbidity burdens and nutritional interventions.
  • Perform any other related professional duties assigned by the Hospital Management and supervising officers.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized university.
  • Must possess provisional registration or the requisite eligibility for registration with the relevant professional regulatory body in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
