About the Role
Afripoint Group Limited is a global innovative company leveraging technology to drive businesses across borders. We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic DevOps Intern to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced developers and IT professionals to support software deployment, infrastructure management, automation, monitoring, and system reliability, while gaining practical, hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of scalable web applications.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes to streamline software delivery.
- Assist in managing cloud infrastructure and optimizing development environments.
- Monitor applications, servers, and system performance to ensure maximum uptime.
- Support the troubleshooting of deployment, network, and infrastructure issues.
- Assist with server configuration, routine backups, and general system maintenance.
- Learn, adopt, and apply modern DevOps tools, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and deployment procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with developers and other technical team members across departments.
- Carry out other technology-related tasks and projects assigned by the supervisor.
- Currently studying for a degree or recently graduated in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Basic knowledge of networking principles and fundamental system administration.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub or other version-control systems.
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Prior exposure to Docker, Bash/Python scripting, and CI/CD concepts is a strong advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- A proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Good communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
