About the Role
WATT Renewable Corporation is a leading independent power producer dedicated to delivering sustainable electricity solutions to residential, commercial, and community locations globally. Headquartered in Canada with extensive operations in frontier economies, we specialize in designing, building, owning, and operating renewable energy projects utilizing solar, wind, and biomass generation. We are currently seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Design Manager to spearhead our engineering initiatives, translating complex site data and load requirements into high-performance, code-compliant energy systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support comprehensive site surveys and load capture activities for assigned renewable energy projects.
- Accurately size photovoltaic (PV) arrays, inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and controllers based on specific project requirements.
- Develop detailed single-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment layouts using industry-standard software.
- Oversee high-voltage design processes ensuring strict adherence to international engineering standards and local safety codes.
- Prepare, maintain, and manage accurate as-built drawings and comprehensive design records.
- Implement rigorous quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks on all engineering outputs prior to final submission.
- Collaborate closely with project management, operations, and construction teams to guarantee optimal system buildability and seamless project execution.
- Identify and proactively flag technical risks or design discrepancies before mobilization to the project site.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Systems, or a closely related technical field.
- 2 to 5 years of professional experience in power systems, energy infrastructure, or renewable energy design.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of solar hybrid energy systems and high-voltage design principles.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD and PVsyst.
- Strong competencies in load calculation, equipment sizing, schematic development, and standards compliance.
