About the Role
AgriFood Digital Library and Resource Center is currently identifying qualified professionals for a proposed multi-year agricultural development programme in Nigeria, aimed at strengthening ginger and sesame value chains through climate-smart agriculture and market systems development. Please note that this recruitment is for operational readiness and is subject to project award and funding approval.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic oversight to ensure programme implementation aligns with overall objectives, expected outcomes, and contractual commitments.
- Lead the programme's commercial and partnership strategy to enhance private-sector participation, investment, and long-term sustainability.
- Review performance against key performance indicators, including job creation, enterprise development, and market systems strengthening.
- Provide independent oversight of programme quality, risk management, and compliance with donor and organisational standards.
- Support the Project Director in high-level stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and adaptive management.
- Master's Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience leading large-scale agricultural or market systems programmes.
- Demonstrated expertise in private sector engagement, agricultural value chains, and multi-state development initiatives.
- Proven ability to build strategic partnerships with government bodies, financial institutions, and agribusinesses.
- Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and donor compliance experience.
