About the Role

The Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is seeking an experienced Deputy General Manager, Quality Assurance & Control to oversee our extensive manufacturing operations in Nigeria. In this critical executive leadership role, you will define and implement comprehensive quality management frameworks from raw material extraction to final product delivery, ensuring our cement products consistently meet the highest national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership to the QA/QC team, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring absolute accuracy and precision in sample testing for raw materials, clinker, cement, oil, gas, and water.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and industrial standards for cement production across all facilities.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste, optimize operational efficiency, and minimize the cost of poor quality.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, process control, and executive management to drive continuous improvement and resolve non-conformances.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline; a postgraduate or advanced management degree is strongly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are highly desired.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in quality assurance and control within the cement or heavy manufacturing sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cement chemistry, raw material analysis, and advanced quality management software systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams.
