About the Role
Bell Oil & Gas is a wholly-owned Nigerian independent oil services company delivering high-quality products and services across the energy sector. We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Officer - Valves to join our growing team at our Valve Assembly Plant in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured and assembled valves meet rigorous internal and international quality standards, driving continuous process improvements, and supporting the actualization of API 6D certifications.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect raw materials, components, and assembled valves using precision gauges, blueprints, and work orders.
- Witness hydrostatic, pneumatic, and seat leakage tests to verify product integrity and performance.
- Identify, record, and categorize product defects, managing rejections and coordinating repairs or rework.
- Maintain comprehensive inspection records, compute defect rates, and generate detailed reports for plant management.
- Collaborate with plant and engineering managers to analyze root causes of recurring defects and implement corrective actions.
- Drive the process for the actualization and maintenance of API 6D standards.
- Support internal and external quality audits, ensuring full compliance with HSE and industry regulations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Geology, IT, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of QA/QC experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in a Valve Assembly Plant is strictly required.
- Working knowledge of industrial valves, valve components, and product testing methodologies.
- Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, HSE Levels 1–3, ASNT Level II (VT/PT/MT), and ASME/API knowledge are strong advantages.
