About the Role
Fact Base Consulting is currently hiring a dedicated and results-driven Credit Control Officer to join our team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our financial health by establishing robust credit policies, evaluating customer creditworthiness, and driving effective debt recovery strategies. We are looking for a proactive professional who can balance firm collection practices with the maintenance of positive client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive credit policies and guidelines to ensure sound credit control practices and regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients, making strategic recommendations regarding credit limits and payment terms.
- Monitor and manage outstanding debts and overdue accounts through consistent communication with debtors to facilitate timely payments.
- Design and execute aggressive collection strategies to recover outstanding debts, minimize bad debt, and negotiate optimal settlement arrangements.
- Generate accurate periodic reports on credit and collection statuses, offering actionable insights and recommendations for process improvements.
- Ensure all credit control documentation is meticulously maintained and adheres to applicable local financial laws and regulations.
- Possession of a B.Sc. or HND in Marketing, Sales, Finance, Accounting, or another relevant discipline.
- Possession of an MSc, MBA, or relevant professional certification such as ACA or CFA will be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience, preferably within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in credit policy development, debt recovery, and overall credit risk management.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
