About the Role
Cobranet Limited, a premier internet service provider in Nigeria, is looking for a dedicated Credit Control - Account Receivable Supervisor to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of credit control professionals, optimize accounts receivable workflows, and ensure healthy cash flow while minimizing financial risk for the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of Credit Control Officers to achieve debt recovery targets.
- Formulate and implement robust company credit policies to effectively mitigate financial risks.
- Review credit applications, conduct thorough reference checks, and establish appropriate credit limits.
- Prepare accurate journal entries, process credit notes, and actively assist with month-end closing procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and generate detailed reports on aged debtors to track overdue accounts.
- Negotiate payment terms and manage relationships with third-party debt collection agencies.
- Oversee write-offs, manage bad debt provisions, and establish structured payment plans for clients.
- Continuously review and improve internal processes to significantly reduce debtor days.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in credit control, accounts receivable, and general accounting.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading finance teams successfully.
- Solid working knowledge of Nigerian credit laws and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software packages and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to handle difficult customer negotiations.
