About the Role

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution for technology and vocational education, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Craftsman to join our vibrant campus community. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our technical workshops, maintaining equipment, and assisting students and faculty with practical training sessions across our various academic departments. You will work within a dynamic environment that bridges academic learning with hands-on industrial expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of college workshops and technical equipment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to students during practical training and coursework.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized working environment.
  • Repair and service tools, machinery, and institutional infrastructure as required.
  • Collaborate with academic staff to prepare materials and setups for technical demonstrations.
  • Perform routine inspections and report any faults or safety hazards promptly.

Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a National Technical Certificate (NTC) or its equivalent, with at least two (2) years of relevant practical experience.
  • Alternatively, applicants may hold a Grade III Government Trade Test Certificate, backed by at least two (2) years of satisfactory service on that grade.
  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in relevant technical trades and crafts.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety standards and institutional values.
