About the Role
Aster Bloom Academy is a prestigious private educational institution located in the serene Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Following our exciting brand evolution from Chucklers Heights Montessori and our strategic expansion into secondary education at a newly developed permanent site, we are currently seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections of school buildings, classrooms, laboratories, and recreational grounds to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform prompt, high-quality repairs on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Supervise external contractors, artisans, and service providers during major facility upgrades or specialized repair projects.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of maintenance tools, equipment, and replacement parts, ensuring timely restocking.
- Implement proactive preventive maintenance schedules to minimize unexpected disruptions to academic and administrative activities.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations across the entire school premises.
- Candidates should possess a relevant qualification, Trade Test certificate, Ordinary National Diploma (OND), or equivalent in a technical discipline.
- Proven professional experience in general facility maintenance, building services, or school property management.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with hands-on expertise in electrical, plumbing, and general carpentry repairs.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize urgent facility issues efficiently.
- Good communication skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with school staff and external vendors.
- Residency in Benin City, Edo State, with close proximity to the GRA location is an added advantage.
