About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading diversified business conglomerate, is seeking a meticulous and analytical Cost Engineer to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for internal costing of all Bills of Quantities relating to engineering services, safeguarding financial efficiency and value for money across our expansive manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of internal costing for all Bills of Quantities submitted for engineering services across the organization.
- Review, interpret, and analyze BOQs submitted by vendors and contractors to verify scope, quantities, and pricing assumptions.
- Independently justify or challenge costs submitted by vendors using robust market benchmarks and estimates.
- Develop and maintain detailed cost models and estimation templates in Microsoft Excel for engineering and maintenance works.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Procurement teams to validate technical scope and support vendor negotiations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost engineering, quantity surveying, or procurement within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex cost modeling and data analysis.
- Strong ability to interpret technical engineering documents, drawings, and BOQs.
- Professional certification or membership with bodies such as AACE, COREN, or NIQS is an added advantage.
