About the Role
Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited is seeking an experienced and analytical Cost Controller to drive the end-to-end financial management of our JV Field Operations in the Niger Delta. In this critical stewardship role, you will provide strategic cost analysis, ensure robust budgetary control, and maximize profitability through rigorous forecasting and cost optimization within Nigeria's vibrant upstream oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with cost-tracking, monitoring, and maintaining detailed cost analyses of actual expenditures for budget inputs.
- Create financial forecasts and gather financial data to support the preparation of Authority for Expenditure (AFE).
- Monitor contracts and expenditures to drive activity cost reduction, value creation, and accurate budget tracking.
- Prepare monthly accruals, cash flow estimates, and comprehensive variance narratives for financial analysts.
- Review, code, and distribute invoices to ensure SAP alignment and timely vendor payments.
- Resolve contractual vendor disputes and manage external partner audits alongside financial analysts.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar cost engineering or cost control role.
- At least 5 years of dedicated experience in the Nigerian Oil and Gas E&P sector with notable industry contractors.
- Deep understanding of Nigerian Upstream Oil & Gas industry mechanics, including Joint Ventures (JVs) and Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs).
- Proven proficiency in major ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
