About the Role
Strivo Labs is recruiting a Core Banking Application Engineer on behalf of a fast-growing financial services client building modern banking infrastructure and innovative digital financial products in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, extending, and maintaining the organization's core banking platform, while supporting critical integrations with payment gateways and financial systems. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement new features for the core banking platform using Apache Fineract and Mifos.
- Customize platform capabilities to support internal workflows, diverse financial products, and regulatory requirements.
- Extend platform modules supporting lending, accounts, and secure transaction management.
- Integrate the core banking platform with third-party systems including payment gateways, reporting tools, and operational platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain robust RESTful APIs to enable secure and reliable service integrations.
- Diagnose and resolve system bottlenecks affecting platform performance, stability, and high availability.
- Participate in peer code reviews and ensure strict adherence to internal engineering standards.
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming and experience with the Spring Framework.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing secure RESTful APIs.
- Strong working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Apache Fineract or Mifos is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of core banking operations, lending workflows, and financial systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
