About the Role
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is seeking dedicated professionals to join our Cook/Cleaner Daily Worker Pool in Nigeria. In this vital support role, you will help maintain clean, safe environments and prepare nutritious meals for patients and staff, directly contributing to our life-saving medical humanitarian missions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and serve timely, nutritious meals for MSF staff and patients while strictly adhering to food hygiene and safety standards.
- Manage food inventory, create shopping lists, and conduct necessary grocery purchases while maintaining kitchen cleanliness and equipment integrity.
- Perform comprehensive housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, and managing waste disposal.
- Ensure proper maintenance of facilities by opening and closing windows, managing laundry duties, and securing premises upon departure.
- Report maintenance issues, depleted cleaning supplies, and any security incidents or property damages immediately to the supervisor.
- Basic literacy is essential, with formal culinary training or courses considered a strong advantage.
- Previous professional experience in cooking, housekeeping, or institutional cleaning is highly desirable.
- Fluency in the local language is required, and knowledge of the mission language is an asset.
- Demonstrated competencies in teamwork, flexibility, stress management, and a strong commitment to humanitarian principles.
