About the Role
Baker Hughes is a global energy technology company providing innovative solutions to customers worldwide. We are currently seeking an experienced Control Field Specialist for our Industrial and Energy Technology (IET) division in Nigeria to drive operational excellence, safety, and technical leadership across critical client sites.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out control panel commissioning, logic modifications, loop and functional checks, panel certification, and upgrades.
- Provide technical clarification and supervision on Baker Hughes rotating equipment including HDGT, Aero GT, and compressors.
- Supervise troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup activities for control engineering during plant outages.
- Interface directly with engineering teams regarding equipment reliability, operations, maintenance, and failure analysis.
- Coordinate and oversee site work to ensure the delivery of high-quality service to customers.
- Execute responsibilities safely in strict adherence to company core values and service procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in turbomachinery control systems and field instrumentation.
- Proven working experience on at least two GE/Baker Hughes control systems such as MKV, MKVI, MKVIe, Rx3i, or GE Fanuc.
- Demonstrated expertise in the commissioning and startup of turbomachinery equipment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with a high customer focus.
- Willingness and ability to travel for field assignments up to 70% of the time.
