We are currently seeking a results-driven Consumer Lending Officer to join our dynamic financial services client. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in evaluating loan applications, advising clients on optimal financial products, and managing credit portfolios while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the financial health of loan applicants by reviewing credit reports, income statements, employment history, and debt-to-income ratios to determine eligibility and repayment capacity.
  • Guide clients through various consumer loan products, clearly explaining interest rates, repayment terms, fees, and associated risks.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to verify application details, process documentation, and ensure full compliance with internal credit policies and banking regulations.
  • Analyze risk factors, credit ratings, and collateral to recommend loan approval, structuring, modification, or denial.
  • Monitor loan repayment performance within your portfolio, identifying early warning signs of default and implementing proactive loss mitigation strategies.
  • Actively source new clients, meet monthly disbursement targets, and contribute to branch growth through effective business development and networking.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Banking, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven experience in consumer lending, credit analysis, or retail banking within the Nigerian financial sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking regulations, credit risk management, and lending policies.
  • Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
