About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a state-of-the-art 500-bed specialty hospital dedicated to transforming healthcare across Africa through world-class clinical services, research, and education. Developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking an expert Consultant Urologist to provide exceptional, patient-centered care and drive our mission of clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive clinical and surgical care for a wide range of urological conditions, including uro-oncology, endourology, and benign disorders.
- Perform advanced minimally invasive, open, and robotic-assisted urological procedures.
- Lead and mentor the urology department, including junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff.
- Serve as a core member of the Urology Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) for comprehensive cancer care planning.
- Lead clinical governance, audits, quality improvement initiatives, and protocol development.
- Contribute to medical education, clinical research, and the professional development of trainees.
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship in Urology or related surgical specialty (e.g., FMCS, FWACS, FRCS, or international equivalent).
- Full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-fellowship experience in urological practice with a strong surgical portfolio.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing a clinical team or department.
- Proven track record in teaching, supervision, and clinical research.
