Independent Project Monitoring Company Limited (IPMC) is a premier firm of professional consultants specializing in the oil and gas, infrastructure, and building sectors. We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly accomplished Consultant Quantity Surveyor to join our expert team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee comprehensive cost and contract management across all phases of engineering and construction projects, ensuring financial accuracy, risk mitigation, and optimal value engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cost planning, estimation, and control for large-scale engineering, infrastructure, and oil and gas projects.
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost breakdowns, tender documents, and comprehensive bid evaluations.
- Administer contracts, monitor performance, and manage variations and claims in compliance with industry standards like FIDIC.
- Execute value engineering exercises and digital variation tracking utilizing As-Built drawings to achieve maximum cost efficiency.
- Provide accurate financial reporting, interim valuations, payment certifications, and final account closeouts.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior quantity surveyors and cost engineers within the department.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline (Master's in Project Management is an advantage).
- Mandatory registration as a Quantity Surveyor with NIQS and possession of a valid RQS license.
- Minimum of 15 years of proven professional experience in cost consultancy, pre-contract, and post-contract phases.
- Strong proficiency in industry-standard QS software such as CostX, Candy, QS CAD, or MS Project.
