About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja, a premier 500-bed specialty hospital developed by Afreximbank in partnership with King's College Hospital, is seeking a visionary Consultant Interventional Cardiologist. In this pivotal role, you will provide exceptional cardiovascular care, perform advanced catheter-based interventions, and drive clinical research and departmental excellence to transform healthcare delivery across the African continent.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex interventional procedures including diagnostic catheterizations, primary PCI, angioplasty, and structural heart procedures such as TAVI and ASD closures.
- Provide comprehensive patient care from initial assessment, diagnosis, and risk-benefit discussions to post-procedure follow-up and discharge.
- Lead clinical governance, resource management, and quality assurance while ensuring strict adherence to statutory regulations and healthcare standards.
- Drive strategic departmental development, clinical research, and staff training in cutting-edge interventional cardiology techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery and improved patient outcomes.
- Medical Degree (MBBS, MBBCh, MD) from a recognized institution with a completed Fellowship or Residency in Cardiology.
- Minimum of 5 years of extensive professional experience as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist.
- Valid practicing license and specialized skills training in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).
- Proven track record in building collaborative partnerships and taking independent clinical responsibility.
- Prior experience in electrophysiology will be considered a strong added advantage.
